THINKING

"Tim is a rockstar entrepreneur and a design thinking yoda. Genuinely passionate about creating value for the creative industry, Tim is regarded as a hugely investable Founder/CEO. It always amazes people what Tim and the team have managed to build on such limited resources…"

Ben Williams, Founder

I’m a design leader with a track record of building brands and products at the intersection of creativity, technology and culture. I’ve led end-to-end design strategy; scaled a creative SaaS platform from launch to exit while maintaining outstanding customer experience, and brought world-first innovation to the blockchain. Adept at nurturing high-performing teams, I’ve driven digital transformation for leading international brands and seeded global communities in visual arts and AI. I deliver commercially minded and future-focused work alongside measurable business impact.

Adept at nurturing high-performing teams, I’ve driven digital transformation for leading international brands and seeded global communities in visual arts and AI. I deliver commercially minded and future-focused work alongside measurable business impact.

Through a career that covers service agency and product ownership roles I have experienced major campaign and product lifecycles from ideation to exit with direct accountability for teams, stakeholders and corporate responsibility.

Exited Founder

I have lived start-up and scale-up lifecycles through ideation, bootstrapping, fundraising, stakeholder management, corporate governance and exit. More than once. I bring direct founder experience and can signpost how scrappiness evolves to strategic scaling.

Creative Director

From an agency-side strategic consultancy career prior to product ventures I bring proven creative processes, award-winning presentation, brand, mission communication and campaign skills - and hands-on design that can be applied across most industry sectors.

Domain Authority

Whilst rooted in the creative industries I have shipped service and product solutions across fintech, sports, retail, food & beverage, fashion and lifestyle - working with engineers across cloud data, SaaS and frontier tech stacks.

Fundraising

Through my ventures I have raised funding via private investment with a proven understanding of what investors want to see, and what they get behind. I've worked with initiatives like SEIS, EIS and understand routes to matched funding.

Stakeholder

As agency owner and product owner I have managed employees, shareholders, investors, clients, suppliers, partners and communities to ensure that projections, roadmaps and expectations are aligned, solid and lead to great things.

Governance

I have managed financial modelling, data protection and information security, procured external suppliers for engineering and recovering R&D tax credits. I have been responsible for governing corporate tax and accounting, employee policy, board relations.

I practice data-driven design thinking that merges human-centered empathy with quantitative analysis. With data as core driver I test and validate sentiment to inform an iterative process that recognises stakeholder and customer needs whilst accelerating innovation.

Empathise

I begin by placing myself in the ecosytem to better understand user and organisation motivations, needs and pain points through conversation, observation and mapped research

Key activities:

Conversation: directly engaging stakeholders and users Horizon Scanning: detect potential opportunities, risks and trends Observation: reviewing and feeding back on current interaction Mapping: identifying drivers and edge cases, journeymaking Identification: finding complimentary external parallels or patterns

Discover:

Meaningful human insights as drivers for design and change.

Define

With clear empathy insights established, I analyse and synthesise gathered research to define a focused, user-centred demand that aligns with business goals and market opportunities

Key Activities:

Analysis: reviewing user data and observations Synthesis: developing user personas, key patterns and themes Problem framing: a clear problem statement from needs and insights Opportunity framing: translating the problem into explorable paths Alignment: ensuring framing meets organisational or market goals

Determine:

A clear, actionable goal that integrates with organisational strategy.

Ideate

From a defined goal, focus shifts to generating, structuring, and selecting innovative solutions ready to explore or prototype through divergent and convergent thinking

Key activities:

Idea Generation: via brainstorming, mind-mapping, rapid ideation SCAMPER: combine, modify, eliminate and rearrange ideas Storyboarding: finding visual solutions and pattern affinity Concept Generation: partial or full solution directions Concept Selection: evaluating and shortlisting prototype opportunities

Propose:

Promising or validated solution concepts ready to prototype.

Make

Leading the transformation of concepts and patterns into prototypes that meet minimum viable or desirable goals in order to test, learn and iterate on a low-friction platform

Key activities:

Rapid Modelling: wireframes and visualising user journeys Prototyping: low-fidelity solutions for feedback Design System: reusable, high-fidelity component library Iterative Refinement: prototype refinement from initial feedback

Outcome:

Transforming concepts into tangible and testable representations.

Test

An ongoing, iterative process of validating solutions through user interaction, testing, strategy alignment and then iterating through insights

Key activities:

Usability Testing: user observation, active observation A/B Testing: version and scenario comparisons Measurement: defining and tracking metrics and KPIs Hypotheses Validation: testing fulfilment of strategic intent Iterative Refinement: continued refinement from fresh feedback

Outcome:

Implementation-ready solutions with organisation and market alignment
